An EPSRC network grant was awarded to form a network for the UK’s algorithms and complexity research community. The network grant, AlgoUK, ran from December 2017 until November 2020. The network’s initial membership consisted of algorithms and complexity research groups at six universities:

• Durham University
• King’s College London
• University of Leicester
• University of Liverpool
• Royal Holloway, University of London
• University of Warwick

These research groups (or possibly others) each hosted a network workshop during the lifetime of the grant.

• The first network workshop was hosted at King’s College London on 6-7 February 2018, co-located with 26th London Stringology Day & London Algorithmic Workshop (LSD & LAW);
• the second was hosted at the University of Liverpool on 19-20 September 2018;
• the third was hosted at Durham University on 15-17 April 2019, co-located with 35th British Colloquium for Theoretical Computer Science (BCTCS);
• the fourth was hosted at Warwick University on 17-18 September 2019.
• the final network workshop was hosted at Swansea University and was co-located with 36th British Colloquium for Theoretical Computer Science (BCTCS).

Every network workshop was open to every algorithms and complexity researcher in the UK and the network itself was intended to support the whole community. There were limited funds available to assist with attendance at AlgoUK’s workshops.
